Description

This cultural walking tour takes you from the sea to the heights of Santa Bárbara Castle: Alicante’s quintessential landmark. Make your way up with a shuttle bus avoiding crowds and hikes. Upon your arrival our team of local guides will share with the group insights of ancient civilizations, local stories and legends. Once at the top, take in the breathtaking views of the coast and city. The descent is done on foot, giving you the chance to explore the charming district of Santa Cruz: a maze of whitewashed houses, flower-filled balconies, and beautiful alleys. This is the perfect stop to reflect on Alicante’s unique traditions including Semana Santa (Holy Week) and the Cruces de Mayo festival. The tour ends in an unexpected but fitting place: the Museo de Hogueras, dedicated to Alicante’s most important festival. There, you will get a closer look at the art, fire, and passion behind the city’s biggest pride. A walk through centuries of history, from medieval battles to modern celebrations – all with the Mediterranean at your feet.
